FRANKLIN - KBZE's Neal McClelland catches up with West St Mary Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Edwin P Colbert after  WSM defeated Hanson 41 to 32 in Hanson's Holiday Classic. Colbert tips his hat to Hanson and gives a preview of WSM's upcoming season. McClelland also speaks to WSM's Brandon Wilson.

DEC 13 2021 - HANSON TIGERS DEFEAT DELCAMBRE PANTHERS 41-32

KBZE'S Neal McClelland followed the Hanson Tigers to Delcambre on Monday, Dec 13, to watch their match against the Panthers there. 
He spoke with Coach Tommy Schexnayder, along with Tiger Eugene Foulcard Jr., after the game.

           DELCAMBRE, LA.  - Gabe Baker scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half as Hanson slowly but surely used a strong inside game to build up and then pull away from Delcambre Monday night in a battle of former district and long time rivals in a non-district contest by a 41-32 score.
           Riley Rodriguez added 10 points and Jacob Daniel also had 10 points for the Tigers, who improved to 6-4 overall.
           "It's a big win for us," Hanson coach Tommy Schexnayder said, "Hanson and Delcambre have a long history and tradition.
            "I thought our kids battled through a lot of adversity tonight and showed a great effort. We did a better job defending the Delcambre kids tonight that we had in the two previous games
             "I was real pleased with how the kids stayed with the system and kept chipping and chipping and before you knew it, we had a decent lead and were able to hang on."
              Hanson held leads of 8-4 at the end of the first quarter and 18-14 at halftime before extending the lead to 32-21 by the end of the third quarter and cruised home with the win.
              Jaxon Wiggins led Delcambre with 14 points as the Panthers fell to 1-8 on the season.

KBZE'S Neal McClelland followed the Hanson Lady Tigers to Delcambre on Monday, Dec 13th, where they faced off against the Lady Panthers.  Listen to a brief interview with Lady Tigers Coach Jamar Garrett and Lady Tiger Mya Hidalgo.

        DELCAMBRE - The Hanson Lady Tigers led by double-digits early but a second half rally capped with a game-winning 3-pointer from Rhen Broussard allowed the Lady Panthers to escape with a 44-42 win.
        "I think both teams played a really great game and you can't take anything away from them," Hanson girls coach Jamar Garrett said. "We had double-digit leads at times and they didn't quite and they fought and I think that foul trouble got us in the end."
          Celia Bishop led Hanson with 14 points while Mya Hidalgo added 11 and Hilary Pillaro finished with 10 points in the losing effort.
           Amiyah Decuire led Delcambre with 24 points.
